Cub & Grey is a British brand that is extremely proud of its British heritage.  We are passionate about individually sourcing the very best UK materials to ensure that our product quality is outstanding.  All of the materials for our core collection are sourced in England, from businesses with exceptional craftmanship.  Please read below to find out more about what makes our suppliers special or to find out more about us, see Our Story.

Knutsford, Cheshire

Abbey England is a family run business (like us) committed to supplying and producing quality British products. Their Walsall foundry dates back to 1832.  Abbey England have been issued with a prestigious Royal warrant because they supply goods or services to the British royal court or certain royal British personages, which highlights just how respected Abbey England are in the saddlery world.  When Cub & Grey was just a seedling of an idea, I visited Abbey England and after speaking to their highly qualified staff, our theoretical prototype for the perfect Sighthound Collar became the reality that it is today.

Supplier of Saddlery Workshop Materials

Abbey England supplies Cub & Grey with all of the Sedgwick 1900 leather hides for our core heritage collection and also many of the tools that we use to hand craft the leather into the finished Collar or Lead that you receive.  You can read more about the leather used to craft your particular product on the product pages.

Artisan Leather was founded nearly 20 years ago in 2006.  We love that they are also a family run business and because they started out making hand crafted leather goods before devoting all of their focus on leather craft supplies, we know that they really understand their product and have the insider knowledge required to provide the best.  We source all of our beautiful brass from this small but prestigious business, as well as the Gum Tragacanth that we use to finish the edges and create that beautiful shine.  Because all of our products have solid brass fittings (Buckles, D Rings, O Rings and Rivets) they are incredibly strong, incredibly striking and will not rust through wear like cheaper alloys.

UK Packaging are one of the leading on-line suppliers of packaging materials in the UK.  We love this company because they allow us to create a great unboxing experience, whilst their affordable price point enables us to offer free postage to all UK customers.  All of our products are individually wrapped in matte black tissue paper secured with shiny Cub & Grey logo stickers and include a personal note welcoming you into the Cub & Grey Club and offering leather care advice.  These are all carefully nestled within a securely sealed artisan box.  This means that whether your order is a gift or a treat for yourself and your hound, the pleasure of seeing your branded box arrive and unsealing it to discover the contents within, is a palpably pleasurable experience!  As using natural materials is a core part of the Cub & Grey ethos we choose boxes made from recycled material where possible and the boxes (with the logo sticker removed) are completely recyclable.
